The secondary dns server has been offline for a while now and I'm not sure for how long. While I was trying to get that issue resolved, or even replace that server, the main server went offline too due to some outage at my upstream provider. This is the first time that both the primary and secondary dns servers were offline at the same time. If you have a server or VPS to donate for the purpose of a 2nd secondary dns server, I'd be grateful.
All services and the website was offline for approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes from 12:30 PM to 2:50 PM EST. Dave Clark [email] [irc chat] DollarDNS Services

What sort of quality are you looking for in a server, and how much bandwith is needed for the connection?

Well, secondary dns servers just need to work to be useful. They don't have to be really fast or have a lot of bandwidth. Total bandwidth consumption for a secondary dns server will be less than 20GB/month. Total bandwidth speed will be less than 20KB/second (10 up, 10 down).
If you have any other questions, let me know. Dave Clark [email] [irc chat] DollarDNS Services

What's happening with servers? Master and Slave are not responding...
Querying ns1.dollardns.net (216.117.186.93)... timed out Querying ns2.dollardns.net (216.117.174.208)... timed out Querying ns3.dollardns.net (66.111.214.100)...
and slave 2 only respond to dollardns.net domain requests
BIND Status died at 03/14...

If you need secondary DNS... I have a Windows @k Advanced server box just sitting around, I'm working on rebuilding it to run my website again... also have a nix box I dont use...
I can give ya access to either one... remote desktop on win2k or root on the nix (fedora)
Whatever I can do let me know... I got quite a few domains running off your service.

So do I. I wish I could get another .com to run off my Linux box. Just don't know how to get it setup with the httpd.conf.

Sorry about that guys. Still transferring domains from the old dns server to the new dns server. The new secondary dns server is online, but not hosting everybody's domains yet.
This issue with the main server has been fixed. There was a process executed by cron every hour to generate stats that was hanging up. Eventually the system was overwhelmed by the number of dead processes building up and BIND couldn't continue running. I've cleaned up the processes and started BIND back up. Thank you for the free service Dave, I appreciate what you do for us as do many others. Personally I don't know how you do it without losing hair or sleep on a large scale.

Thanks for the supporting comments. I always feel extremely guilty when things go wrong with the service. The 2 hour and 20 min thing mentioned at the top of this post was something I had no control over since the secondary was offline, and that is why I was asking if anybody could donate the usage of a 2nd secondary server. This latest problem was quite avoidable and I feel the guilt much stronger. I'll see about fixing the stats page (the badly programmed stats generator being broken for an extended period of time is the cause of the problem) and getting all master zones transferred to the secondary server should make things happily stable again.
I'm gonna lose a bunch of business from this I'm sure. Dave Clark [email] [irc chat] DollarDNS Services

So what. I am still here and will still be here. I love this place and you provide the best DNS for me. I mean you are even a guy that helps me with things not concerned here and even check my stuff for me and that is more then I could ask.

I've added 100 zones to the secondary server. This includes all zones by all users I've seen post in the past few days.
davidjhuffman, can you please send me an email or update your contact email for your account? Your domains do not list free3.dollardns.net and therefor cannot get the benefit of redundant dns. I tried to send you an email with instructions but the email listed for your account is invalid. Dave Clark [email] [irc chat] DollarDNS Services
