Major outage

For nearly a month, no changes could be made on the site. You were able to pull up the site and read webpages, but any active content returned an error. It took some time to figure out that problem was with the hard drive. So, I proceeded to back up all the data just in case that any further attempts to remedy the situation would cause loss of data. Once that was accomplished, I did my best to remedy the situation only to find out that the server was setup in such a way that I couldn't. So I worked with my hosting provider to get it resolved, and they did.

The whole process took way longer than it should have even considering that I haven't encountered this particular problem before. As far as I can tell, dns service continued uninterrupted so it is likely that many domains and users of this service are unaware that anything had happened. But I know that several of you did notice and made attempts to contact me. I answered a few queries, but did not manage to keep up with the communication. I admit that this was all handled unprofessionally and I apologize. Certainly if it were to happen again, I would be in a better position to address it quickly.

P.S. Once the lease is up on this particular hosting provider, I'll be moving the service to the Amazon AWS Cloud, which offers considerably more options and capabilities so that a problem like this would never occur or would at least failover seamlessly without inconvenience to you. But this is not expected to take place until Spring of next year.
